Tippie had a great life. She was the best friend to many, including Bill and Evelyn Barner, and the families after that also took care of her. She loved kids and loved to see Kevin and Emma when they came to visit. She loved to go back and visit Grampa! She loved to ride in Grampa's old blue truck here with me on the ridge and when we returned home, she did not want to get out. She would sit and think of her days with Bill, her wonderful friend, and I would leave the doors open and she would soak up the sun in the front seat and smell the truck and think of him. I think she thought many times we were going to see him.

She landed with us and lived as a queen on the ridge chasing bears over the point, skunks, foxes, and turkeys away, and herding/fighting the goats and llamas for scraps of food. She loved her best friend Casey the most. They roomed and slept together as best girl friends. She was the mascot to the Shasta County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Dog Team. She liked
tagging along with Casey and Hannah and I two different training classes and even got an AKC Canine Good Citizen award. She learned not to run away. She loved children and loved playing tug. She loved Sharon, Dick and Barb, Brenda, Brady and others who took care of her often. She loved Mia, her Westie friend in Santa Rosa, and her Jack Russel friend on the ridge, Bear. She loved Shelby and Rudy, German Shepherd friends, Wyatt the lab, who all left us too soon.

In the end, she was tough as nails and strong. She never wet, even though on Lasix and antibiotics. She had fluid in the lungs, around the heart, abdominal irritation (possible ulcer), rattled breathing, choked when drinking, had stopping eating and drinking, and was loosing weight and becoming dehydrated. It was a struggle to breathe and not start a coughing gagging attack.

We know at the moment she left the ridge, she ran into the arms of her beloved Bill who was waiting to welcome her to heaven.
A Funeral service was held on the ridge today. Blue and Packer the goats, Junior and Maverick the llamas, Hannah the German Shepherd and her friend, and Tom and I attended. Casey is afraid of the hot wire fence so she was not there but Tom said she was waiting for the luncheon - which was hilarious as everyone knows how Casey loves her food! It broke up the tears with laughter!

To Tippie! Our cutest, best little friend for many years! We miss you. T&C

Taken from me far too soon due to cancer. Spring was the sweetest
Sheltie, the best baby duck and puppy-sitter. We started together in
the world of AKC showing. She will always have a special place in my
heart.
